This museum is situated in Swindon where there are things to do for the young and old. It is housed in a restored railway building, where seven generations of men and women built the great locomotives and made the Great Western Railway. This museum also brings you:
Actors bringing to life the stories of people working on the railways,
Family activities during the school holidays,
Engines 'in steam' and talks and lectures.

Where To

The Steam museum is situated in Swindon next door to the McArthur Glen Great Western Designer Outlet.
Off the M4 junction 16, follow the brown tourist signs to 'Outlet Centre'. From the railway turn right and take the 2nd foot tunnel on the right.

 

Opening Times

Open daily 10am to 6pm, but open later on Thursdays when it closes at 8pm.
