Woodland Park

This is not your normal  average everyday day out, the park is set in 80 acres of ground. It has nature trails you can follow, a train ride, barbecues ready to use ( bring your own equipment and food etc. ) a large lake, and if you take some bread with you to feed the ducks you will probably see the large fish come up to have a nibble as well.

The younger children might want to play inside on the special soft area, and the older children will love the adventure play area's. There is a place called the Heritage Centre where you are able to see some stuffed animals and exhibitions on conservation, forestry, and natural history.

And at Christmas time if you book in advance you can take a special trip to see Father Christmas. Just keep an eye out for the resident geese, they  weren't too friendly with us and whilst trying to get out of their way my mother in law lost her shoe in the thick wet mud and ended up with muddy feet, ( we would of helped but we couldn't ----- we were all laughing too much ), another thing to watch out for is the mud when the weather isn't too good.
